5 Working Blogging Tips For University Students and Beginners

July 13, 2016 By Author Leave a Comment

One of the best reasons to blog is to learn and explore new things and you can do it best when you are in college because you are already learning new stuff and you can teach and share new things on your blog.

You don’t have another job responsibility and if you are having a blog niche same as your course stream then your fellow mates would be your targeted readers. This way you can start with a bang and gain quick followers. Such fan following always becomes a good reason to motivate you.

Apart from this, there are many other benefits of starting a blog like you won’t be having pressure to earn money fast, you can enjoy learning new writing techniques and your (SEO) Search Engine Optimization skills will be improved day by day.

Whereas if you start blogging once you finish college, you would surely have a pressure to start earning via blog soon or have a full-time job. Another thing is building networks in blogging becomes quite easy while you are in college because you already spend a lot of time on social networks and making connections which will help you share your articles and getting fame quick.

To start blogging, you need to be quite responsible and “be your own boss” because college life can be quite distracting like you want to publish an article and the same time your friends are throwing a party and that’s why you would need to manage your time accordingly.

Here are a few blogging tips I am sharing which will help beginners and students to get success even if you are in college.

#1. Have a schedule :

schedule your blog while bloggingAs a college student there might be going a lot of other tasks for you like studies or sports and thus when you start blogging you need to stick to a schedule otherwise you won’t be able to take blogging seriously. Either you can wake up early an hour or late night when there are fewer disturbances so that you can concentrate more on blogging.

You can only generate traffic if you are publishing articles frequently. You can publish an article in three days or every day, but you need to follow that frequency.  Make sure you select a time to blog that is easy for you to concentrate otherwise with a lot of distraction you might lose interest in writing articles.

Many college students start blogging, but they don’t care about time management and thus get failed to maintain a blog. Thus, even with studies, you need to squeeze some time for blogging to get ahead.

#2. Have a blog for your own college :

write blog for your own college

All are business sectors are getting online and it goes same with education sector. All schools and colleges generally have their website and they do have their blogs too where they keep updating about the news/extracurricular actives.

You can take advantage of that and ask your head/teacher to let you publish articles on your college’s blog. This way you can continue your passion and can involve other students to make sure you maintain the frequency of the blog. You will be recognized as a blogger/writer and it’s a good way to attract others to your personal blog.

#3. Have a niche related to your course:

I guess if you have chosen a course (branch) in your college then you must be interested in that subject,

So why not start blogging with same?

If you write about something you are interested in, then you would surely love to learn/explore new things and would share on your blog.

Another good reason to start a niche of your own subjects is that it would be good for your studies too and you can also come up with ideas for blog posts like solving any particular question or sharing useful notes with your friends on a blog which will surely increase your fan following among students as well as teachers.

#4. Organize/Attend meetings :

organise and attend meetings

Blogging is not limited to online promotions, online sharing or building an online community.

Now it’s also about offline meet-ups, there are many bloggers who organize blogger meet-up in their city to interact with each other and share knowledge. So be in touch with another blogger in your town and keep getting updates about such events.

If there is no one who is organizing blogging events, then you can arrange one with the help of your college friends. This will help you to meet professional bloggers in-personal and free fame too.

#5. Take care of studies :

take care of studies

Make sure that when you are studying and blogging, don’t try to put your studies at risk in front of blogging, that means don’t bunk your classes in order to do the blogging.

Because the degree is more imperative than blogging as most of the companies ask for a degree and won’t consider your blogging experience, so do not ignore your studies, and make sure you are paying equal attention to studies as well.

Your blogging experience could certainly help you get ahead of others and add good impact if you are applying for a writer job, but at the same time, you need to make sure that you have the appropriate degree to apply for that. The bottom line is that you should never ignore your studies for doing blogging, rather blogging should be done when you get free from your studies.

Above are a few basic, but very useful tips which every blogger/student who is in college must follow. Initially, you will find it a bit difficult to manage your time, cope up with writer’s block or keeping yourself away from distraction but once you will get on track and start earning, then you will surely enjoy blogging time.

You can even start paying your own bills or class fee. I guess above are enough reasons and tips for you to start a successful blogging, you can also refer to our earlier article about how to blog and you can always drop comments to get more insights or share your views.
